Take a course in how to become a Bikeability instructor – 26-29 October

Hours of training are from 9.30 to approximately 5pm each day.

This is the nationally accredited 1st 4 Sport course that trains you to deliver Bikeability throughout the UK.

1. 4 days of intensive instruction – Bikeability – the three levels and how to deliver them; risk management; teaching practice; the National Standards in cycling and best practice positioning.

2. You will be able to instruct both adults and children, though the main area of instructing is 10- to 12-year-olds.

3. Online learning both before, during and after the course

4. Support from the tutor.

5. Registration with 1st 4 Sport

All the above is included in the cost of £450 which is very competitive compared with other course providers and represents excellent value for money.

Once the course has been completed, including the online learning and assessment, you can start instructing. You will be able to work for any Bikeability provider, including Avanti Cycling.

In order to become fully accredited you will need to undertake a post course assessment (PCA), if you work mainly for us, then we will provide that free.

The post course assessment needs to be undertaken on a real course with children, we expect you have taught quite a lot prior to the PCA in order to gain the experience.

We also have an in-depth continuing professional development CPD training process with our organisation, we do not expect you to do anything you are not fully ready for.

There will be quite a lot of work available, we are an expanding organisation and have work available throughout our four areas of Oxford City, South Oxfordshire, Wokingham and Reading.

We pay up to £15 per hour for Bikeability and there are other opportunities in Safer Urban Driving courses and adult training to use the skills you will learn on this course.
