We get more people onto bikes by teaching little people how to cycle in traffic, by giving adults confidence to ride and by helping organisations implement sustainable transport policies.
We give lorry drivers a greater understanding of vulnerable road users and also lead adventure cycling tours locally and abroad.
The Reading Cycle Festival – sponsored by Avanti Cycling – is going online between 13 and 17 July with a packed programme of events to inspire you to start riding or to do more fun things with your bike.
We have started delivering Bikeability in schools again and are following strict guidance designed to reduce the risk of spreading Covid-19.
Avanti Cycling has been named Provider of the Year 2020 by the Bikeability Trust, which oversees the government-sponsored cycle training scheme.
We are leading providers of Bikeability, the government-sponsored cycle training programme for schools. We are active in and around Reading, Wokingham, Oxford and South Oxfordshire.
Almost four dozen training bicycles sidelined during the pandemic have been loaned out free of charge to key workers in the Reading and Wokingham areas.

You can learn to ride at any age. And as more and more adults take up or return to cycling, we’re there to give them the skills to control their bikes and the ability to navigate the roads with confidence.
Getting HGV drivers onto bikes
Transport companies recognise the need for their drivers to be sensitive to the presence of vulnerable road users, including people on foot or on bikes. We give drivers an on-road cycling experience so that they have a greater understanding of what decisions riders make in traffic.
Promoting sustainable transport
We help organisations create or implement sustainable transport policies, from designing schemes encouraging active travel for staff to providing training and Dr Bike maintenance sessions.
We are accredited to deliver the new 1st for Sport Level 2 and Level 3 courses to re-train existing instructors and train new instructors and tutors.
