Bring your bike for a free mechanical and safety check in Reading’s town centre every first Thursday of the month.
We will have our work stands outside Sainsbury’s in Broad Street mall between 1100 and 1400.
Apart from checking that all the essential parts of your bike are working properly, we can make minor adjustments to brakes and gears.
We can advise you on what needs further work, either in a commercial bike shop or the low-cost workshop run by the Reading Bicycle Kitchen.
We are providing this free service in partnership with Reading Borough Council which has set aside funding to promote active leisure and travel.
Other elements of the programme include learn-to-ride sessions, lessons for rusty riders and guidance for aspirant commuters. Find out more about free sessions where you can learn about the essentials of bike maintenance.
We are also running a series of guided leisure walks.
