Reading Cycle Festival all set for Sunday 9 June

Join us for the Reading Cycle Festival at Christchurch Meadows on Sunday 9 June from 1200 to 1600.

  • Free bike checks
  • Bike recycle
  • Bike demos, including e-bikes
  • Unicycling training for novices
  • Advice on local routes
  • Pedal powered smoothie machine

It will be an afternoon out for all the family, part of Cycling UK’s Bike Week and the Big Bike Revival – national campaigns to get more people onto bicycles.

Sponsored by Avanti Cycling, Reading Cycle Festival is being held early in summer to help inspire riders to make the most of the season.

Leading cycle shops – AW Cycles and Pankhurst Cycles – will have demo bikes for you to try out and local clubs will explain how you can get involved in rides and other cycling activities.

Reading Bicycle Kitchen
The Reading Bike Kitchen will be on hand to give you a free bike check

This is your chance to learn how to ride a unicycle. Members of the Union of UK Unicyclists will give you a taste of their diverse world. You could be popping tricks, speeding down mountains, or just getting to work on one wheel.

Donate your old bike, or sell it and buy something bigger at the festival

If you have trouble maintaining your bike, come along for free advice from friendly on-site mechanics.

If a young rider has outgrown her bike, bring it along to sell and look out for something bigger at our bike recycling scheme.
